We will additionally invite approximately 10 students in their 2nd year of Master’s program.

Application Qualifications

Those who, as of April 1, 2020, are enrolled in their 2nd year of Master’s program and majors listed in the following table and are going to proceed to Doctoral programs of these courses and majors.

* Applications to other multiple doctorate programs in addition to this program are effective. However, this program does not allow its students to take overlapping courses. Therefore, they must decline other programs if they desire to take this course.

Application Procedures

Period of Acceptance: from February 21 (Fri) 2020 to February 26 (Wed) 2020 (Time of Acceptance: from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm)
Place of Acceptance: Secretariat of WISE Program for AI Electronics

Documents to Be Submitted

Submit a set of your application documents as follows within the period of acceptance.

1. Application for registration (Form 1)
2. Personal statement (Form 2)
3. Recommendation letter from a professor who will accept the applicant (Form 3)
4. Academic transcript (issued by the faculty of the university the applicant graduated from or the advanced course of the college of technology the applicant graduated from)
5. Copy of an English proficiency test score
   (Any of TOEFL® Test PBT, TOEFL iBT® Test or TOEIC® Listening & Reading Test) (It does not matter when the applicant took the concerned test.)

Process for Selection

Applicants will be selected with the screening of submitted documents and an interview.

Acceptance notification by document screening: February 28 (Fri), 2020 to March 3 (Tue), 2020
Interview: March 5 (Thu), 2020 to March 10 (Tue), 2020

Final Acceptance Notification

Acceptance is scheduled to be notified to successful applicants individually by the end of March 2020.

Financial Support Excellent graduates, who have been selected for this program, will receive financial support. The amount of support will be determined separately.
Requirements for completion Those who have been accepted need to meet the requirements for completion specified separately in addition to the requirements by the graduate course they belong to.

Others As a general rule, graduates who have been selected for this program should apply for Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
